SUMMER RETREAT — July 30 - August 4th, Ancram, New York, USA
In the Path of Yin Wood Snake
Join us for a 5-day retreat to infuse the profound alchemical potency and healing potential of this time.
This journey will be supported by tea rituals, guided visualizations, qi gong, somatic dance, meditative & creative elemental embodiment practices, community integration circles and discussions, nourishing food, and a beautiful private land sanctuary of northern new-york state. The intention of this retreat is to join together in meaningful and symbolic practices to remember the heart and strength of what inner stability feels like. Together we will practice resourcefulness, creativity, and be in conscious community effort and connection - amidst the times of great transformation.
Associated with deep transformation, introspection, intuition, and wisdom, the Snake is considered a mystical guide, illuminating all that isn’t often touched by the light, the darker areas of life, awaiting to be transmuted into great healing. Acting as a bridge between the physical and metaphysical realms, the Snake teaches us the subtle sensitivity to the power of transformation and the ability to adapt and evolve through life’s challenges.
In the path of Yin Wood Snake 乙巳, we are invited to embrace our healing journey with great dedication, through the supportive web of community effort and co-creation. As we get to know and acknowledge our unique role within our communities, we find personal and collective empowerment that activates our expression of purpose and sense of belonging with all that is. The snake can help us connect to the hidden gifts within our nature that are needed now.
This retreat is co-facilitated by Jade Brunel and Catiflor.
About Jade Brunel
Jade is the founder of WAOTEA, the author of the book "Tea, Remembering the Essence of Life", and a facilitator of meditative, creative & elemental embodiment experiences. Through the primordial language of nature, tea ritual, dao mysticism, mindfulness and the healing art, she is supporting her community navigating life’s transitions through her online platform, retreats & immersions.
Since 2010, Jade has been sourcing tea for her community — in China, Malaysia, Thailand & Japan, where she has spent time studying and exploring tea culture. She has dedicated the past 15 years studying practices and systems, such as qi gong, mindfulness meditation, biodynamic psychology, chi nei tsang, somatic movements, creative writing and dao astrology (BAZI) — inspiring and forming the web of her approach to healing, encouraging great intimacy and coexistence with all parts of life, and its impermanence.
About Catiflor
Catiflor is a somatic depth psychotherapist, ceremonial facilitator, mindfulness coach, and student of the Dao and Chadao practitioner. Her approach to healing and community wellness is rooted in philosophies based in connection to the soul, bringing the conscious light of awareness into the unconscious through Jungian, elemental, and ecopsychologies, dream analysis, creative practices, archetypal and mythological exploration, and trauma recovery modalities. She has over 12 years of practice and initiations from the healing lineages of the Aztec-Mexihcah tradition of the ‘Danza de la Luna’, Hermetic Kabalah and the Academy of Oracle Arts and south american medicine practices of Quechua and mestizos descent.
Catiflor is a long time student and trainee of Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estes who has influenced her to live a life of devotion and service to healing the Anima Mundi, the soul of the world, by embracing and learning to walk in the darkness and light of both human and divine worlds with nature as one.
